Kilbroney Timberframe LTD where the main contractors on site for this project, taking this project from foundations to finish.
Our Clients came to Kilbroney Timberframe expressing that they wanted a home which would be extremely easy to manage so they would have have low energy bills year on year. Kilbroney Timberframe provided the following specification to meet our clients needs providing them with a home that requires little or no heating.
External wall Insulation
Insulated with 150mm Fibre wool and 40mm PIR rigid board fitted on the inside of the studwork this gives us a overall wall u-value of 0.18 wm²k.
Internal Wall Insulation
Insulated with 100mm fibre wool to provide great acoustic values.
First Floor Insulation
Insulated with 150mm Rockwool fitted in between the joists to create a sound break.
Insulated with 150mm loft wool insulation fitted in between joist and 150mm loft wool above the joists. 25 MM PIR rigid boards fitted below joists. Ceiling U-value 0.12 wm²k.
To continue are highly effective timber frame walls we fitted Light Oak double glazed PVC windows, with a u-value of 1.2 wm²k cutting down on cold bridging by using foam filled window frames.
On the roof we used a roofing felt called Fakro this durable underlay provide projection from uv sunlight, rain and wind. Followed by Blue/black concrete tiles
The house was cadded with blockwork,rendered and then a fine light coloured dash was applied. Coins where formed at the corners of the house and smooth plaster straps where formed around windows

20 Tube solar panel fitted to the south facing side to provide hot water for showering.

House was trimmed out in pine doors, skirting, architrave and pine staircase
